Where I buy my studio wardrobe | For Photographers

PHOTOGRAPHY STUDIO WARDROBEphotography studio wardrobe

I am super excited about this new series just for photographers!  I will be dedicating one post a week towards tips, ideas and just general photography tidbits – starting with where I buy my studio wardrobe.  I have been asked numerous times where I have bought the pieces that are included in my complimentary studio wardrobe which I encourage my clients to borrow from.

Just recently I have *gasp* sold off my previous studio wardrobe.  I have held onto a few pieces that I love and are a popular item for my clients.  As I have grown as a photographer a few pieces have grown out of my style (actually almost all of my dresses).  Some of the pieces in my old collection didn’t speak the high-end feel that is my brand.  I want my clients to touch and feel the quality and luxury in the clothing – feel my brand within the wardrobe so to speak.

My wardrobe fits mothers, babies and toddlers up to 2T – I plan on extending my sizes to 6 by the end of 2017, but for now 2T is the largest I supply.  I have gathered the retailers that I have purchased from this past year to help you build your own studio wardrobe for your own clients.  Most of these retailers are Canadian friendly.

 1. BOOHOO

Boohoo is one of my newest suppliers, they are based out of the UK and their styles are simply stunning.  I came across them while browsing ASOS and instantly fell in love.  I have purchased a few maxi dresses from them that fit perfectly into my collection.

 2. FREE PEOPLE

I have been OBSESSED with Free People for YEARS!!  Their brand falls perfectly with my personal and branding style.  They have that unique, luxury feel to their brand that keeps me coming back for me.

3. ZARA

I love Zara for my baby & child line.  They never seem to disappoint when it comes to those soft textures and neutral tones that I look for.  I luck out sometimes and score a dress or two, but most of the time I primarily purchase for the kids from Zara.

4. ANTHROPOLOGIE

If  I could live in an Anthropologie store I would for life!  I have just discovered their clothing line and I have yet to order, but I see a purchase coming in the near future!

5.  ASOS

ASOS was introduced to me by a photographer friend.  There are loads of clothing to browse through, but I have certainly found a few gems during my nightly browsing.

6. ZULILY

I love Zulily for everything!  I have purchased items for babies, mamas, and toddlers.  Their stock is limited and when you find something you love, you literally have to purchase it right away to nab the product.

I hope this helps while you build your studio wardrobe.  Do you have any recommendations?  I would love to hear them – comment below!
